when a kingdumb hall gets sold----why not draw all the money as paper cash--and make a burnt offering to jehovah. i read in the bible once --he likes to smell a restful odour. -

Active posters: What education have you had, what degrees do you possess?

And so it begins...
by StarTrekAngel inwife and i have not reported a single hour of fs in 3-4 months.
while my wife is mostly doing for me (positive thing), i know she would have rather done it.
elder asked me to turn in my fs report this past week and then he added... "we need to talk".

she passed faithful to the end to them!
by jookbeard injust found out (second hand of course) and by someone on here that my faithful jw mum passed away within the last couple of days, dont know the exact day, and what cause, she spent the last few years living with my fanatical sister, she was 65 and survived my father by 10 years, bitter, angry and hateful till the end and never as so much enquired or asked how her 2 grandchildren ever were , they are 5 and 7!
feeling a mixture of emotions right now, they were lousy parents in all honesty, she suffered health wise so maybe its for the best, dont even know when the funeral is!

The 50 Ways to Be Disfellowshipped
by Wild_Thing ini was wondering ... what are all of the "official" reasons provided by elders for disfellowshipping someone?
i know the most common reasons are adultery and fornication, but what about the others?
a couple of years ago i traveled back to my hometown` and one of my old jw acquaintances told me that her grown son had been disfellowshipped for refusing to stop associating with another disfellowshipped person.

Has This Site Ever Hurt You In Your Journey Out Of The JW Religion?
by minimus inthis site has gone through many metamorphosis over the years.
i believe it is a kinder, less edgy place tan it was a few years ago.
i wonder how many people were helped versus turned off by this place.

ive been on here 5 years now. got into a few cyber-punch ups in the beginning--no harm done--to me anyway.
now when i post i get the impression nobody takes the slightest notice--its as if i'm the only one who can see what ive written.
also--since the recent re-birth of the site--seems a lot of regulars are missing.

How do you feel about religion as a whole?
by FatherFirst init just seems to me religion in general primarily makes truly bad people worse, not genuinly good people better; and in many cases has even made good people do bad things in the name of their religion.
just curious, a personal poll if you will.
what are you guys' current views on religion as a whole?

if people wish to worship a carved plank of wood--fine--its their choice.
religion is where other people move in and organise the plank-worshippers to make a fat living for themselves.
